Successful Coat Drive, Winter 2008
Recognizing that many parents in the Washington DC area were unable to provide winter coats for their children and for themselves, EFM worked with Hopkins House, a local charity that provides education programs and services to children, youths, and their families, to identify young kids who need coats. Additionally, we provided coats to the largest shelter in Washington DC to help meet the critical needs of their residents.
We collected clean reusable coats and jackets and distributed them directly to children and adults in our local community.
Thanks to your efforts we collected about 50 coats! This was a great opportunity to participate in a project that directly benefitted less fortunate individuals.
“The Express” Movie Night
A group of EFM folks went to see the movie “The Express: The Ernie Davis Story”. The movie was used as an opportunity to discuss with the kids the important role that sports can play in their lives and the lessons to be learned through participation in sports.
EFM Participants meet to view the inspirational movie.
